Community Collaboration is Revolutionary
BConnected.info is a community site. A site to be used as a central hub of communication for our communities of color and allies. Working together, we can affect change. That is how we revolutionize.
My Story
I'm Erik McFrazier. I'm originally from Los Angeles, which feels like a life time ago. I arrived in Bellingham for the first time about '94. I immediately fell in love with the sleepy little college town with the barefoot hippies and patchwork clothing. It was not very diverse, but I felt welcomed and at home. Unfortunately, making ends meet was difficult in this little town with very little industry. I moved away and came back. I completed this loop maybe 3 more times, and most recently arrived back with family in tow in 2017.
I've owned a restaurant (Zumbarah Cafe), I've run printing presses, and now I own an IT business (Pacific IT Support) that I started in Hawaii during a 10 year stint living the island life.
Since being back, surviving Covid and bringing 2 kids through the Bellingham School District, both me and my wife decided to become more involved in shaping the solutions that we believe will help create an even better Bellingham.
Since about '22, I have joined multiple boards and helped start the Brothers To Brothers nonprofit. I am also a member of the newly formed Whatcom Racial Equity Commission.
We started this website because we could see so many people doing great work here, but also saw some of the fragmentation, and am hoping that BConnected can help be that central hub that we can all connect and share out stories.
My goal is always to connect, build bridges, create understanding, bring up but not by tearing down. Thank you for visiting our site, and I can't wait to see you out in the community!
Aloha
